The short version
PledgeUP collects the minimum data needed to make the app work. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't track you across the web. If you delete your account, we delete your data.
Who we are
PledgeUP is operated by PledgeUP Pty Ltd, based in Australia. When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean PledgeUP Pty Ltd.
What we collect
Landing page (this site): If you sign up for the beta or charitable stakes waitlist, we collect your email address. That's it. No cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts.
PledgeUP app: When you use the app, we collect the information you provide — your name, email, profile photo, pledges, check-ins, and friend connections. Check-in data (photos, GPS, timestamps) is collected only when you actively check in using that method.
Automatically collected: Basic device and usage information needed to keep the app running — device type, OS version, crash reports. We don't collect browsing history, contacts, or location data outside of GPS check-ins.
How we use it
- To run the app — your pledges, check-ins, and friend connections
- To send you emails you signed up for (beta updates, charitable stakes launch notification)
- To fix bugs and improve the app
- To respond if you contact us
We don't use your data for advertising. We don't build profiles for ad targeting. We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
Who can see your data
Your friends: Only the check-ins you share within a challenge. You control what's visible.
Our infrastructure providers: We use Supabase (database), Cloudflare (hosting), and Apple (app distribution). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We don't share data beyond what's needed for the service to function.
Nobody else. We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, or social media platforms.
Charitable stakes
When charitable stakes launch, PledgeUP will never hold or process your money. Payments go directly from you to the charity via a third-party payment link. We don't see your payment details.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted in the Asia-Pacific region). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data.
Your rights
- Access: You can request a copy of your data at any time
- Correction: You can update your information in the app
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data
- Unsubscribe: Every email has an unsubscribe link
Under Australian Privacy law and GDPR (if you're in the EU), you have additional rights including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Children
PledgeUP is not designed for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. We won't quietly reduce your rights.
